Phillip Island Adult Riding Club was formed in 2005. Club grounds are shared with the Phillip Island Pony Club & are based at the Ventnor Recreation Reserve on Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia.
PIARC members have access to the show-jumping arena, menage and open area of the club grounds for general riding and training, along with the opportunity to learn and train with top quality instructors at our monthly rallies (generally the 3rd Sunday, sometimes Saturday of each month), and can also take part in club ‘goings-on’ at our club meetings or trail rides in local locations.
PIARC uniform colours are black & pale blue, but for some time now (maybe since COVID) we have been fairly relaxed with our dress code 🙂 Branded clothing and saddle blanket logos can be organised for members who wish to be a little more fancy or represent the club at competitions. Please contact the committee for further info.

When interest is shown, other disciplines are welcomed on the rally days after consultation with members.

Housekeeping
We are a family of like-minded horsey people who come together to have fun, practice our riding & enjoy time with our horses (and each other), but there are a few guidelines we ask for everyone to follow, so we don’t have to get the whip out (pun intended).
Rally Dates are posted via Facebook / email with as much notice as possible to confirm interest or book a place on the day. Please respond at your earliest convenience, so the Rally Coordinator doesn’t have to turn into a friendly pest & also nominate a time you would prefer, so we can aim to please as many people as possible!
Lesson times are generally 45 mins, and are usually followed consecutively by the next lesson – so if you are late, you will likely have a shorter ride.
Booked lessons need to be paid for if you do not attend – the alternative being a replacement rider with current HRCAV insurance & membership. Should replacement riders not have HRCAV insurance & membership, a $30 day membership charge will be applied to the cost of the lesson to cover liability costs.
We also have a cancellation Policy to follow as a club, which can be used a guideline when making decisions about cancellations at rallies – please ask the Rally Coordinator for further information.
Please ensure you clean up after yourselves and your 4-legged friends after each day at the ground or at the end of each rally. All manure, hay, or other organic waste on the grounds (tie up area, yards, arenas etc…) must be cleaned up and placed in the ‘poo pile,’ near the front gate of the grounds. All other rubbish must be collected and placed in the garbage or recycling bins provided (this includes doing the dishes / cleaning the loos in the clubroom if used). Gates and padlocks need to be locked, shut and stored in the key safes.
Lastly, when using the grounds on non-rally days, please be sure to volunteer to ‘groom,’ the arena frequently and ensure any equipment is tidied away, so the next person who uses the area doesn’t have to clean up after you.
